It takes every one of us to make this garden grow and thrive.

As we get ready for another season, we pause to reflect on our 2023 summer at Charlotte Rhoades, which was marked by increased visitation, the commitment of a host of dedicated volunteers and our energetic team of docents and staff.

The butterflies and flowers calm us and bring us relief through contact with the natural world. Endangered butterfly populations rebounded, no one knows why, but that improvement nevertheless brought us joy and a great sense of accomplishment. The return of picnic tables and benches dotting our landscape enabled visitors to gather safely while our Story Hour, Junior Naturalist mornings and new swings offered younger guests a range of opportunities to learn, play and enjoy our grounds and gardens.

It’s important to remember that it takes each and every one of us to make this garden grow and thrive. Your support on any level is so important to us. Whether it’s a donation when you visit the park, a major gift, or sharing your time or skill on a project, we hope you will continue your generosity to Charlotte Rhoades Park and Butterfly Garden.

Many thanks,

Ann Judd, (Coordinator for the Charlotte Rhoades Garden)
